Technical Description:
- Apparatus investigating horizontal thrust of the springing of two hinged steel parabolic arch
- To enable the calculation of influence lines
- Apparatus to consist of steel parabolic model arch
- 1.0 metre span, 0.2 metre rise
- To have springings with precision bearings installed
- Horizontal thrust measured by precision load cell
- Load to be applied using calibrated weights on vertical equi-spaced chains and hangers
- Ability for model analysis work to be undertaken using pins at hanger joints and dial gauge
- To have optional arch with span of 1metre and 0.5metre rise (sold separately)
- Must be used with universal Frame and Stand (sold separately)
- Must be used with Interface (sold separately)
